Juneteenth Commemoration at Antioch Baptist Church

Juneteenth event on June 22 at Antioch Baptist Church, commemorating 160 years since the first Juneteenth. Local African American Civil War soldiers and sailors will be recognized, including Samuel Mayo of Saluda, who went into Galveston with General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865. Reenactors representing the 23rd Regiment of the United States Colored Troops will participate in the program which will include a wreath-laying ceremony.
