Indulge Your Senses at the Spring Garden Party at Millmont

Join the Middlesex County Museum and Historical Society on Sunday May 19, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at historic Millmont on the Rappahannock for our spring fundraiser. Step into a world of elegance and enchantment at our upcoming Garden Party extravaganza! We cordially invite you to join us for an unforgettable afternoon filled with sensory delights, set amidst the breathtaking beauty of Millmont located on the Rappahannock River. The half house, built in 1810, features heart pine floors, hand hewn beams and additions from the 1940’s and 1994. The home is located atop a gently sloping hill along the southern shore of the Rappahannock River with sweeping views up the river and of the Chesapeake Bay.

Wine and Food Pairings: Savor the exquisite flavors of carefully curated wines expertly paired with delectable culinary creations. Let your taste buds dance amidst the lush greenery as you explore a symphony of flavors.

Live Music: Be serenaded by the melodious tunes of live music, adding a harmonious backdrop to our garden oasis. Clayton Neale, a guitarist with the musical group “Jumbo Lump Daddy,” will provide music. Lose yourself in the rhythm and melody as you mingle with fellow guests under the open sky.

Floral Design Showcase: Susan Marie Rhodes, certified horticulturalist with 30 years’ experience in interior plantscape and landscape preservation design, will create stunning masterpieces from the garden’s flowers.

Garden & Waterfront House Tours: Embark on a journey of discovery as you explore the hidden treasures of our enchanting garden and waterfront oasis. Ms. Rhodes will give tours of the grounds, providing you the opportunity to immerse yourself in a kaleidoscope of colors and scents that celebrate the beauty of the spring blooms. And inside the home, knowledgeable guides will lead you on insightful tours from 3:00-4:00 pm., revealing the secrets and stories behind each picturesque corner.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will support the museum in its mission of education, through programming and exhibits, of the county and its vast history.
