Everyone has family treasures that should be preserved for future generations. In this virtual presentation, learn practical ways to preserve family papers and photographs. We will discuss environmental conditions, storage materials and display techniques to ensure that materials last for future generations, as well as common dangers to avoid and tips on capturing family members’ memories.

Meg Hughes has been with The Valentine Museum since 2004 and serves as Director of Collections/Chief Curator. She holds an A.B. in History from Princeton University and earned her Master of Science in Information (Archives and Records Management) from the University of Michigan. Through inventory, digitization projects, research services and exhibitions, Hughes manages the manuscript, book and photographic collections in The Valentine’s internationally recognized holdings.
